Blog Duo
Ciao Americanos! we are sitting in our study center in florence and rachel is about to fall asleep because one of our roomies snores. anyways- London recap: nice traveling around but freezing and no sun. Rachel's bday night was absolutely crazy. We decided to go out to some club and paid 10 pounds. But we didnt get into that club and instead sang happy bday to rachel outside on picadilly circus- it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. then we went to a club with panels on the wall that would light up different colors. our friend break danced with some locals and held his own, very impressive. Rachel saved the day when she asked what time it was- 2:45 a.m. and we had to be packed and ready for our flight at 415 a.m. we all rushed home and barely made it on the bus, sans any sleep. Rachels actual birthday was spent traveling to florence and getting any sleep that we could... upon our arrival we walked around and just hung out in italy (that sounds weird to type). We have gone out 1 night since being in florence and it was a blast- a step up from london! we went to a dinner where our waiter spoke no english and the menu was in all Italian. Rachel accidentally ordered liver pate and had to eat it so she could impress her lover, the waiter. The waiter was beautiful and rachel and him were making eyes at each other...hmmm. But nothing happened, UNTIL we saw him the next day at lunch and he asked where we were staying- destiny, perhaps? but we just said ciao and peaced out. The club was interesting- english rap songs, strobe lights, vip section. basically, the equivalent of a mexican nightclub during spring break but italian. annie was pissed when they didnt have any diet coke for her rum and diet coke so she ordered a rum and WATER- so hardcore now, huh? School started today and so far so good but we have different teachers and OF COURSE rachel didnt get homework and annie got a bunch of worksheets- yuck. We just found out about our family too- they are a couple that has one 3o year old son who doesn't live at home. The program representatives know them personally and said they are very nice people. We dont live around everyone else who are in apartments but our living situation sounds real nice and we have privacy. Also, the rep. told us that we are away from the commercial areas and more in a true italian residential area, which we are both excited about. The only money we have spent has been on food- gelato, pasta, coffee for rachel and diet cokes for annie.
